Join us for an evening of deep thought and heartfelt expression at Death Salon. As the sun sets, we’ll gather in the warm embrace of International House to explore the delicate tapestry of life and death through performance arts and conversations. Be captivated by soul-stirring performances and melodies that resonate with the essence of our shared humanity. The event will then have an open mic session, inviting you to share your own reflections on mortality, loss, and being alive in a supportive and understanding atmosphere.

Hosts: Siobhan Marie Doherty of Blue Tomato Studio & International House of Rhode Island

Siobhan Marie Doherty is a creativity coach, joy facilitator, and feminist historical comedian at her company, Blue Tomato Studio. She believes that everyone is wildly creative and is passionate about work that meets the heavy parts of life with honesty, humor, and purposeful play. She loves to provide transformative experiences of deep listening and creating more internal space for joy.

A graduate of NYU’s Tisch School for the Arts, she also has 15+ years of both teaching and performing in professional theater. Her upcoming events include hosting a Joy Facilitation Workshop at LitArts RI, an outdoor Artist Date Experience, and performing her comedic slideshow: Vagina Obscura in the PVD Fringe Festival. International House of Rhode Island (IHRI) is a nonprofit organization that serves as a welcoming “home away from home” for international students, scholars, their families, and local community members fostering cross-cultural exchange and global understanding.
