DxRI Design Week: The Evolution of Industrial Design: Driving forces that shaped our world

We plug in and recharge without considering where the power refresh comes from, what technology creates it, and what a long and rich history those technologies have. The story of power is an unusually linear narrative with each “new” innovation growing out of the last. Matthew Bird will present the history of power in a way that connects what we think of as distinct technologies (wind, water, steam, fuel, even human and goat) and explores their shared history. Stops along the way will include the grain mills of Zeddam, the fountains at Versailles, Josephine Baker, and Conan the Barbarian.
