Experience the vibrant flavors and rich cultural heritage on Federal Hill in Providence, Rhode Island with the return of the 5th year of Al Fresco on the Hill. Set against the charming backdrop of Federal Hill, known as the city’s “Little Italy,” this outdoor dining event celebrates the culinary arts with an array of entertainment and shopping. Restaurants and retailers set up right on the Avenue in designated sections. AFOTH takes place on Saturday evenings from May 25 – August 31, 2024. Live Entertainment and artistic performances take place in roving positions throughout the event footprint. Guests can Stroll the Avenue while enjoying beverages, shopping, and dining.
Each participating restaurant accepts reservations and we recommend making them when possible. Dining on the Avenue takes place from 5 p.m. – 12 a.m. each Saturday night. Sustained heavy rain will be the only reason to cancel the event.
From Bradford Street to Dean Street along Atwells Avenue will be OPEN to vehicle traffic each night. Participating restaurants in this section will have parklets set up on the Avenue directly in front of their doors. From Dean Street to Lily Street along Atwells Avenue will be CLOSED to all vehicle traffic from 3:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
We have over 1000 parking spaces available throughout the Avenue. Various restaurants have set up Valet Stations. We recommend asking them when making your reservation where they are located. Paid Valet Parking lots are available at 126 Spruce Street, 107 Federal Street, 57 Sutton Street, and 90 DePasquale Ave. Additional on-street parking is available throughout Federal Hill.
