Xenos is an experimental folk quartet blending traditional Cretan songs with modern sounds. Formed by Emmanuel Thresher, who rediscovered the Cretan lute after years of playing guitar, the band includes Jeffrey May (keyboards), J Curland (drums), and Alexios LaBonne (bass). Their music reimagines Cretan folk traditions, inspired by Emmanuel’s cultural heritage and childhood memories. Songs feature dynamic arrangements and Greek lyrics, aiming to connect audiences to the emotional depth of the music, regardless of language. Xenos recently released a two-song single, San To Neró / To Ároma, showcasing their musical versatility and cultural roots. Their performances are immersive, weaving high-energy moments with introspective melodies.
