How’s About Charlie is an indie folk band born from the vibrant artistic community of Providence, RI. The group began in 2015 at the MADCAP open mic, where Amanda, Nicole, and Beth discovered a shared obsession with each other’s voices. A spontaneous harmony session on Paramore’s “Hate to See Your Heart Break” turned into a lifelong musical journey. Originally called “The Fates,” they rebranded in 2017 after a creative spark at AS220 Foo Fest, adopting their quirky name. Their sound blends lush vocal harmonies with guitar, ukulele, and the dynamic rhythms of percussionist Aaron Bedard, who joined in 2018. Now a close-knit quartet, How’s About Charlie is spreading their indie folk magic across New England and beyond, bringing heartfelt songs, radiant energy, and smiles to every stage they grace.
