Join us at Great Friends Meeting House for an artist talk with Jason Tranchida & Matthew Lawrence, creators of the new video Scandalous Conduct: A Fairy Extravaganza. The project is about the 1919 Newport Sex Scandal, in which undercover Navy operatives seduced a group of queer characters known as the Ladies of Newport. The project uses abstract video, archival narratives, and musical recreations to tell a story of surveillance and homophobia just after the end of World War I.
